Spanish Expedition
Here's what you can expect: A little bit of everything!
You'll be a tourist and then a member of a Spanish family. You'll see famous sites and quaint towns; stay in hotels and then in your host family's home; graze on tapas while walking down busy boulevards and then enjoy home-cooked meals with locals. You'll be practicing Spanish throughout the entire trip and return home more cultured, befriended and confident in your language skills.
What more could you ask for?
Day 1
Ward off jet lag by exploring the incredible architecture and fascinating history of Barcelona by bike. Stroll down the famous Las Ramblas, stopping along the way to enjoy delicious tapas.
Day 2
Take in Gaudí’s marvelous minor basilica, La Sagrada Familia, on which construction began in 1882 and is projected to conclude in 2026. Catch a bite to eat before heading to an exciting FC Barcelona fútbol match!
Day 3
Rise above Barcelona on a panoramic miniature gondola up to the famous Montjuic and then explore the site of the 1992 Summer Olympics. Spend the afternoon relaxing on the beach and take well-deserved siesta—or go for a dip in the Balearic Sea!
Day 4
Embark on a beautiful train ride to Madrid for the second leg of your adventure. Visit the remarkable collection of art in the Prado National Museum before being wowed by a heart-racing Flamenco show.
Day 5
Discover Madrid via a double decker hop-on, hop-off bus. Check out an amazing cathedral and buy candy from cloistered nuns through the secret door of a humble church. From the Royal Palace to Plaza Mayor, you’ll see the city’s top sites all in one day!
Day 6
Head to Málaga for the final leg of your journey. Zip around on electric scooters before meeting your host family and heading off to their pad for the second half of your adventure.
Day 7
Hang out with your Spanish host family and experience authentic Spanish life.
Day 8
Dive deeper into life as a local as your Spanish host family shows you the highlights of this spectacular city.
Day 9
After spending a day with your hosts, join your fellow travelers for a farewell dinner with all the host families! Take the opportunity to thank your amazing Spanish family and reflect on your adventure!
Day 10
Say "adiós” to your Spanish host family and head to the airport. Relax and reflect as you fly home.

Trip price includes EVERYTHING: roundtrip flight from San Francisco to Spain, three meals a day, travel within Spain, lodging, excursions, and travel insurance
*Additional $400 fee for students who opt out of the host-family experience
