Revolutionary War & Beyond
Come with us to see New York and Boston! With New York’s strategic location and Boston’s revolutionary fervor shaping early resistance to British rule, we’ll discover how these colonial cities played pivotal roles in the lead-up to the American Revolution.
Leaving from Sacramento, we’ll start the adventure in Boston. We’ll walk the Freedom Trail and discover Revolutionary War landmarks while exploring the city’s captivating blend of history, culture and modern charm. Then we’ll travel by train to New York City and follow the footsteps of the founders of the United States of America. We’ll even add in recent historically significant sites, like the 9/11 memorial and contemporary cultural phenomena, like a Broadway performance and a baseball game.
Are you ready to see where America was started? Let’s go!
Here’s what you can expect:
Day 1
Depart Sacramento on a flight to Boston. It was here in 1773, when America was still a colony of the British Empire, that colonists launched a bold nighttime protest by dumping 342 chests of English tea into the Boston Harbor. The “Boston Tea Party,” as the raid was called, was the first major event that led to the American Revolution.
Day 2
Get your day started off right with a morning Duck tour! In a unique amphibious vehicle, we’ll cruise by unique neighborhoods and historical landmarks that make Boston the birthplace of freedom and a city of firsts. Then, enjoy a private tour of the Boston Freedom Trail. Finally, visit the iconic “Green Monster” at Fenway Park—America’s oldest ballpark—to round out an authentic Boston experience.
Day 3
Reenact your own colonial protest at the Boston Tea Party Museum as you learn about the events that immediately preceded the American Revolution. Then Bid Boston a fond farewell as you take the train to New York City!
Day 4
Stretch your legs on a walk through New York’s Central Park; the oasis of greenery—with scenic walking paths, lakes, and iconic spots—will refresh your soul. Then, experience the 9/11 Memorial & Museum at the World Trade Center--it’s a moving tribute that honors the lives lost. In the evening, experience New York’s culture up close and personal at a Broadway performance.
Day 5
Uncover the history of the founders of the United States of America. Walk in their footsteps as you visit incredible sites of historical importance including places where they lived, worked, and fought. Next, experience one of America’s most enduring symbols, the Statue of Liberty. Maybe some of your own ancestors saw her on their journey to the United States?!?
Day 6
Head back to the airport for your return flight home. Spend time in the air replaying and reflecting on your favorite memories from the trip.
