Battlegrounds of Europe
Brussels, Normandy, and Paris are all brimming with life. You’ll love each region and won’t be able to choose your fav—don’t worry, we won’t make you!
Start your adventure in Brussels, seeing the “musts” and experiencing Belgian culture through chocolate and waffle tasting and biking; travel to the battlegrounds of Waterloo and Bostogne, too. Visit Normandy to see the countryside and historical hallmarks up close before continuing onto Paris. After three days in Paris, you’ll be a pro at catching the metro and ordering a croissant! Visits to the iconic sites of Paris – the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, the Louvre, to name a few – will leave you breathless and amazed.
Are you ready to experience something different?
Here's what you can expect:
Day 1
Meet up with your fellow travelers and settle in for your transatlantic flight (movies, and snacks, and sleeping, oh my!).
Day 2
Arrive in the capital of the European Union. Brussels is a vibrant international city both modern and historic, with endless options to explore. Stretch your legs on a guided bicycle tour of the city. Then reward your effort with an afternoon of Belgian chocolate tasting. Don’t forget some treats for your family and friends!
Day 3
Ready for another unforgettable history lesson? Visit Waterloo, where the Battle of Waterloo changed the course of European history. Climb the 225 steps up the famous Lion Mound to overlook the battlefield. Interactive museums, 3D films, and soldier-guides make this a multi-sensory experience you won’t want to miss.
Day 4
Embark on a history lesson you will never forget in the city of Bastongne. Bastongne marks the end of the Liberty Road, the pathway taken by Allied troops to liberate France during WWII. Visit the American WWII Museum and the site of the Battle of the Bulge.
Day 5
Wave goodbye to Belgium as you enter the region of Normandy in France. Tour the breathtaking Chateaus (castles) of northern France. Soak in the beautiful scenery while nibbling the famous cheeses.
Day 6
Continue exploring Normandy, meandering through its famous WWII graveyards and D-Day beaches. Stick your toes in the English Channel and reflect on your experiences thus far.
Day 7
Au revoir, Normandy. Time to jump on the TGV, France’s high-speed train, to Paris! Experience the metro as we make our way to our hotel in Montmartre, the famous artists’ quarter. See the Mona Lisa up close as you survey the Louvre! Curate your own Parisian adventure during your afternoon of exploring. End the day with a Secret Food Tour.
Day 8
Spend the day exploring the Palace of Versailles, the lavish residence of “Sun King” Louis XIV and Marie Antoinette, including the Hall of Mirrors and extensive gardens. Spend the evening relaxing on a bateau mouche ride along the Seine.
Day 9
Enjoy another guided bike tour—this time through all the famous, can’t-miss sites of Paris. Grab lunch at a local boulangerie and picnic in the park before heading to the top of the Eiffel Tower. Enjoy the fabulous 360-degree views of Paris. Stroll down Champs Elysees, known as “the most beautiful avenue in the whole world” and take in the magnificent Arc de Triumphe. Savor your farewell dinner and relish some free time in Montmartre.
Day 10
Time to say “Au revoir, Paris! À bientôt!” as you fly home. Your family will be so happy to see you and anxious to hear all about your adventures!
