Greek Art Escape

Go back, way back, to ancient times on this Greek excursion. 

Get ready to explore the ancient wonders of Athens, where history and mythology come to life among stunning ruins like the Acropolis. On Naxos, bask in pristine beaches and charming villages, while tasting some of the finest Greek cuisine. Finally, Santorini's dramatic cliffs and unforgettable sunsets will leave you in awe, creating the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable adventure!

Get up close and personal with the ancient artworks you’ve always dreamed of seeing. Here's what you can expect:

Day 1

Welcome to Athens, the heart of ancient civilization. Get ready to explore world-famous landmarks like the Acropolis, while also discovering the vibrant energy of its modern streets and lively neighborhoods. Here, culture, cuisine, and history come together to offer an unforgettable experience!

Day 2

Today, have a memorable hands-on art experience by creating a mosiac souvenir to bring home. Then, explore the Plaka neighborhood with it’s narrow, winding streets, lined with colorful houses, local tavernas, and artisan shops.

Day 3

Catch a ferry to dreamy Santorini, with whitewashed towns perched on dramatic cliffs overlooking the deep blue waters of the caldera. The island’s breathtaking sunsets, unique volcanic beaches, and rich history make it one of the most captivating destinations in the world. Experience the sunset while dining at an outdoor cinema café. 

Day 4

Today’s hike from Fira to Oia offers some of the most spectacular views in Santorini, with stunning vistas, charming villages, and endless blue sea along the way. Next, visit Akrotiri, the well-preserved ancient Minoan city. This city (could it be Atlantis?) takes you on a journey back in time. Afterward, unwind on Santorini's unique volcanic beaches, for a perfect blend of adventure, culture, and relaxation.

Day 5

Take an early morning ferry to the Cycladic island of Naxos. We’ll start our adventure here by relaxing on pristine beaches and exploring charming whitewashed villages where traditional Greek life unfolds among cobblestone streets. Spend sunset at the Temple of Apollo’s Portara, an iconic gateway that frames breathtaking sunset views over the Aegean Sea.

Day 6

Today we’ll explore and get hands-on with the traditional and contemporary art of Naxos.  Local artists’ stunning works are inspired by the island's landscapes, using mediums like pottery, sculpture, and painting. We’ll also see galleries in the town of Chora which showcase both contemporary and traditional Greek art. 

Day 7

Enjoy a private tour of the iconic Parthenon, a symbol of ancient Greek achievement. Next, visit the new Parthenon museum to learn more about art and life in ancient Greece.  Finish the night by shopping for last minute souvenirs.

Day 8

It’s time to head home as you reflect on all the exciting memories.

  • Sean Bill, El Camino High School’s ceramics teacher, will be leading the group along with Laurie Carruth, veteran guide and art historian

  • A deposit of $1200 (non-refundable) is due by October 1st to hold your spot

  • Space is limited to just 10 students--small group sizes allow us to give each student individualized support

  • A valid passport and a travel authorization through ETIAS are required to enter Greece
