Eric Larsen

Eric spent two decades teaching high school science before the travel bug bit him on a field trip to Iceland. Since then he has guided students around the USA, Mexico, Europe, and Asia. Japan keeps calling him back though – loud enough that he earned a second teaching credential for Japanese language instruction.

 While studying in Japan during college, Eric traveled the country from Sapporo in the far north to Hiroshima in the southwest. He enjoys discovering regional food specialties, crafts, and music. His favorite souvenirs are things he made by hand in workshops with local craftspeople – mugs, chopsticks, scarves, calligraphy – that remind him of people as well as places.
