Discover Bordeaux

With a unique viticultural history, Bordeaux is aptly considered the world capital of wine. Join us in exploring this beautiful region as we uncover the secrets of viticulture in the city, experience life in the Medieval wine-making commune of Haut Médoc, and enjoy a delicious glass of wine while cruising down the river Seine in Paris.

We will…

Day 1

Arrive in Paris early morning and connect via train to Bordeaux’s Saint Jean’s Station. Immerse yourself in the chic Chartrons neighborhood and walk along the River Garonne, allowing your body and mind to connect with the “Bordelais.”

Day 2

Begin the day with a walking tour, exploring the city’s architecture, medieval center, and an engaging introductory museum, Musée du Vin et du Négoce. Climb the tower at St. Andrê Cathedral, where you will soak in a commanding view of the city.

Day 3

Travel to St. Emilion for a wine tasting tour and lunch.  Explore the medieval old town and visit authentic “right bank” vineyards before returning to Bordeaux for dinner.

Day 4

Venture to the coast in a private tour of the Dune du Pilat, the tallest dune in Europe.  Explore the beauty of the Arcachon Bay and enjoy a tasting of the famous oysters of this region.

Day 5

Leave Bordeaux for the wine country. Transfer via private shuttle to the town of Blaye, a medieval crossroads of France. Overnight stays at the Serene Château Borgeat de Lagrange will anchor excursions to vineyards and the historic Citadel du Blaye.

Day 6

Ferry across the Gironde estuary to the legendary communes of Pauillac, Saint Julien, and Margaux, where we will explore medieval villages and enjoy wine tastings at some of the finest vineyards in the world.

Day 7

Leave the pastoral Médoc and return to Bordeaux to board a train back to Paris.  After checking in to the hotel, go see the majestic Sacre Coeur and climb the magical Eiffel Tower.

Day 8

Begin the day with an exciting bike tour of Paris, enjoying lunch at Tuileries Gardens, and visiting the exquisite Musée d’Orsay.  The day ends with a River Seine tour on a Bateau Mouche, as Paris gives us a grand “au revoir” with its city lights.

Day 9

We say goodbye and enjoy our transatlantic flight home.
